About TIN100 Report
What is the TIN100 Report? Now in its twelfth year, the TIN100 Report provides an annual analysis of New Zealand’s largest globally-focused companies in the hi-tech manufacturing, biotechnology and ICT sectors.
The TIN100 Report is a piece of independent market research and inclusion in the report is free. TIN researchers collate information from approximately 450 companies and report on the largest 200. We endeavour to capture data on all companies that qualify. The majority of the data is from the companies themselves and is public information. Where revenue data is not provided we estimate the figure based on staff numbers.
TIN’s research is very collaborative, with widespread industry support and participation. We are delighted with the evolution of the report to the position where it is now viewed nationally as a critical reference for key decision makers. It has been extremely gratifying to watch the Report play an increasingly important role in facilitating the emergence of a transparent technology export community. It does this by identifying key companies, analysing company performance, and outlining how to contact these companies.
Key sections of the report include analysis of ownership structure, market sector analysis, profiles of the industries fastest-growing companies, economic impact review, analysis of R&D, profiles of promising early stage companies and a look at which New Zealand regions have the greatest growth in technology.
Our research is sponsored and supported by our partners, Callaghan Innovation, NZTE, EY and AJ Park. Find out more here.
What is The Investor's Guide to the New Zealand Technology Sector?
This report makes a strong case for investment in New Zealand's technology sector. It draws on the annual TIN100 Report which provides detailed information on the performance of the country's technology companies, and the New Zealand Technology Industry Association's Digital Nation New Zealand Report (July 2016).
The analysis in this report comes from public and private company data for the top 200 New Zealand technology firms (as determined by revenue). This data has been collected and aggregated by TIN over the past eleven years.
This report has been prepared by Technology Investment Network (TIN) on behalf of the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). Click here to download the report.
